Interoperability
Our "Information Society" is supported by an infrastructure consisting of various types of ICT technologies. Interoperability enables data and information generated by one system to be accessed and (re-)used in a meaningful way by another system, whether or not the latter system is based on different technologies.
When it comes to buying a business program, strong arguments are made concerning switching costs. As a matter of fact, a new application means changing processes that the enterprise already has in place. Using two or more different systems in parallel makes it hard to exchange information and communicate properly. On the other hand, reading and writing in the same file formats or using the same protocols ensures error reduction and operational efficiency.
We have already seen about this issue. Helios4' key advantage is the fact that it can be integrated with other pre-existing systems such as ERP, CRM etc. Moreover, the data import and export tools support data aggregation.
Benefits:
- Increased operating efficiency
- Improved reliability and security
- Reduced operational costs and complexity
- Lower support, systems restoration and upgrade costs
